Instrument Makes, Models, and Setups

Perhaps the most frequently asked question of performers is regarding their "setup." This includes the makes and models of their instruments, mouthpiece selection, ligatures, reeds, and any alterations made to their equipment. The list below is an attempt to alleviate some of those questions. It is important to note, however, that setup does change depending upon performance situations, climates, etc. The following is merely a generalization of Ward Baxter's most common setups.

Note: When referring to mouthpiece setup, "classical" and "jazz" are simply descriptions of common sound concepts and general tone quality.
